Bridge Lab  Reflection

The left picture is a bridge that my partner, Demetrius, and I built in POE Class. This is what the bridge look like before my teacher, Mr. Taylor, put weights on it.  As you can see, it was made out of toothpicks and gumdrops. It may not look like it but our bridge was able to hold about 10 pounds of weight. In this experiment we had to observe the tension and compression. But before we built our bridge, we used the "West Point Bridge" application to build prodotypes of what our bridge would look like and how it would hold up weight. In addition, we drew blue prints of what the toothpick bridge would look like. The right picture is what the bridge looked like after we put the weights on it. It may look the same but actually there is a tooth pick that broke. It may seem like a failure but in actuality it did what it was suppose to- maintain a certain amount of weight.
